The charming village of Bernau is located in one of the most beautiful high valleys of the southern Black Forest. Wherever you come from, you will find yourself gradually entering the magic of our wonderful forest and the peace, relaxation and good air you are looking for. Enjoy the last kilometres through dense forest as you approach Bernau and dip into our sunlit valley.
Coming from the north, take the A 5 Frankfurt-Karlsruhe-Basel. Leave the motorway at exit 62 - Freiburg-Mitte - and follow the B31a towards Freiburg. Continue on the B31a through Freiburg until the road merges into the B31 towards Titisee-Neustadt. From there, take the B500 towards Feldberg. At Schluchsee, turn off the B 500 towards Menzenschwand / Bernau. Alternatively, you can also leave the B31 at the exit to Kirchzarten about 5 km after Freiburg and follow the main road no. 126 via Todtnau, then take the B317 and from Geschwend main road no. 149 to Bernau.
Coming from Stuttgart, follow the A 81 Stuttgart-Singen for about 100 km, leave it at interchange 37 - Dreieck Bad Dürrheim - and follow the A 864 in the direction Freiburg / Donaueschingen. From Donaueschingen, take the B 27, then the B 31 to Titisee-Neustadt. From there, follow the B 500 towards Feldberg. At Schluchsee, turn off the B 500 towards Menzenschwand / Bernau.
Coming from Switzerland, take the A 5 Basel-Karlsruhe-Frankfurt, and change onto the A 98 at interchange 68 - Dreieck Weil am Rhein - in the direction Lörrach. Take Exit 5 - Lörrach-Mitte - follow the B 317 till Schopfheim; switch at Schopfheim to the B 518 to Bernau. From Waldshut-Tiengen take the B 500 via St. Blasien to Bernau.
Bernau is likely one of the most spread out villages in all of Germany. The Rössle is located in the part of the village known as Innerlehen.
Seebrugg am Schluchsee is the nearest station from Bernau (about 20 km away). This is the last stop on the "Drei-Seen-Bahn" (Titisee, Windgfällweiher, Schluchsee), which you get via the Freiburg-Titisee/Neustadt-Seebrugg line. You are only a short bus or taxi ride away from us from the station, We will be happy to pick you up if you give us a call.
The nearest airports are Stuttgart (approx. 2 hours), Karlsruhe/Baden Baden (approx. 2 hours), Basel (approx. 1 hour 15 min.), Zurich (approx. 1.5 hours), Strasbourg (approx. 2 hours) or Friedrichshafen (approx. 2 hours 15 min.). All of these airports offer excellent bus and train connections, or you can take a taxi or a rental car.
